Accredited as Investors in People Gold and a Living Wage Champion, we work exclusively with government agencies, blue chip clients and other ‘risk-averse’ organisations such as critical national infrastructure operators. Our business is experiencing a sustained period of growth with an increased demand on our canine security operations and research and development related to innovative canine training and service provisions.  As such, we are seeking to recruit the next generation of ‘superstars’ to join our team.

We have a requirement for ‘Trainee Dog Handlers, based in Greater London, Kent & Essex

A career as a General Purpose Canine Handler or Specialist Detection Canine Handler is currently in high demand and can be an exceptionally rewarding one. Often you will be deployed at high risk or high profile sites – tasked with the protection of people, places and/or products.


Required Qualifications:

We will accept applications from candidates without formal training such (NASDU Level 2 or equivalent) – though those without prior suitable training will be required to attain the necessary qualification through attendance of our recommended training programmes:

NASDU General Purpose Canine Handler Level 2 course (7-9 days) – Greater London Area

Course dates and costs are available upon request 

You will be required to fund your own course placement, though financial support with the cost of a dog/vehicle, may be offered for the right candidates.

For the NASDU General Purpose Canine Handler Level 2 Course – funding support is available for ex-military personnel through the
ELCAS scheme.

To commence work as a General Purpose Dog Handler – you will be required to hold a valid SIA Licence.


Successful Candidates:

Candidates who successfully complete our course will receive a NASDU Level 2 accreditation and will be guaranteed an interview to explore a full-time employment opportunity within our company at a long-term client site in East London.

If you are successful in gaining employment with us, our Canine Team will work to support you through continuous training, advice and equipment support; and you will be provided with a number of training shifts on GSS sites (some accompanied) until ready to commence full-time deployment. We can also offer advice on buying a canine (also ask if we have any available for loan or sale) as owning your own suitable canine is another pre-requisite of employment in this field.

General Purpose Dog Handlers can then go on to realistically earn between £25k-£30k in their first year.
