2022 ACS AUDIT – OUTCOME
Last month, 24th and 25th of May 2022 to be precise, we undertook our annual ACS Audit.
For the first time, we were audited by The National Security Inspectorate (NSI).
The Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is a voluntary program developed by the SIA, which is designed to establish baseline performance standards in the delivery of outsourced security services. There are just over 2500 companies (min 5 employees) currently operating in the UK’s private security industry and approximately 750 of these are assessed as part of the ACS.
ACS companies can score a maximum of 145, with zero being scored as a satisfactory level of accreditation. Only companies who meet these standards and continue to meet them when annually audited, are permitted to advertise their membership of ACS.
It is a mandatory requirement of GSS’s clients that we maintain our accreditation as an ACS-accredited company.
This year’s ACS audit included:
- An assessment of our adherence to BS:7858 screening and vetting processes
- Our compliance with the IR35 agency worker legislation and key control procedures
- A bench-marking exercise during which both our company leadership and service delivery were reviewed, as well as our financial, resource management and customer relationships management procedures, were measured
At the conclusion of our audit, we obtained a score of 122 – an improvement of one point on our last audit.
We would like to extend our gratitude to the NSI and their assigned auditor, for the quick turnaround in facilitating what was a very comprehensive and constructive audit experience.
Huge thanks and congratulations go out to all of our colleagues who have (and continue to) contribute significantly to our company’s constant focus on continual improvement and being the best that we can be in everything that we do.
This audit score is testimony to our whole team’s efforts during the last couple of years of unprecedented challenges. We couldn’t be prouder of this amazing collective achievement.
