THE GSS SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR 2023 IS ANNOUNCED…
In this 24/7 industry, the weeks and months pass by in a blur of deployments, project briefings, contract review meetings and recruitment interviews.
Amongst it all, many of our colleagues consistently display outstanding performance in applying their responsibilities in line with our company values.
In doing so, they demonstrate a dedication to our company mission – and a level of professionalism that does not go unnoticed by our valued clients and members of the public.
And so – once a year – our senior management team has the challenge of reviewing the many praise-worthy examples of GSS employees exceeding our expectations to determine who should be recognised as our ‘superstar of the year’.
On this basis, we are delighted to announce that Jason Lennox – Operations Manager Arenas & Events has deservedly been recognised as our 2023 Superstar of the Year.
Jason was recruited not long after he left service for the Cheshire Constabulary, having completed 32(!!) years, 27 years of which were served within the force’s K9 Unit.
He has been with our business for two years now and was explicitly recruited to fulfil a newly created role with the primary responsibility of ensuring the delivery of first-class contract management focussed on our newly formed venues and event portfolio.
In exceeding our expectations for the role in the last twelve months, Jason has not only been pivotal in delivering tens of thousands of hours across a rapidly growing portfolio of arenas and venues but, despite an overall increase in hours delivered compared to 2022, has further improved our average contract performance scores.
Jason has also developed solid working relationships with our clients’ venue/event managers and our field-based teams; via several capability development training sessions, he has been allowed to flex the technical know-how he gained from all those years on the force.
Additionally, working closely with our senior management team, Jason has been instrumental in the growth we have achieved within his portfolio. We now deliver more hours and have more directly employed teams than any other company offering similar services to the UK’s live entertainment and sporting venues portfolio.
Speaking of the award, Dave Pitt, Director of Specialist Services, said: “I am delighted Jason has achieved this recognition. He is seemingly ever-present at our client’s biggest events and weekly operational briefings. His technical knowledge of detection and protection dog capabilities and operational methodologies is second to none. I echo the sentiment of our whole team and client base when I say that Jason has been an absolute pleasure to work alongside over the last two years.”
