GSS SUPERSTAR OF THE YEAR 2022 IS ANNOUNCED…
The last twelve months have passed in a blur of project deployments, audits, site visits and – yes – video calls.
Among it all, many of our colleagues consistently displayed outstanding performance in applying their responsibilities. In doing so, they demonstrated dedication to our company mission and values – and a level of professionalism that does not go unnoticed by our valued clients.
And so, once a year, our senior management team has the challenge of reviewing the many praise-worthy examples of GSS employees exceeding our expectations to determine who should be recognised as our ‘superstar of the year’.
We are delighted to announce that the Superstar of the Year Award for 2022 goes to Dog Handler – Nicholas Powell.
In justifying our selection of Nick for this award, we will let the numbers speak for themselves:
103 – separate operational deployments completed in 2022
12 – happy customers including The NEC Birmingham, AO Arena Manchester, First Direct Arena Newcastle
11 – cities – also including York, Liverpool, Nottingham, Sheffield and Leeds
3 – security disciplines – drug detection dogs, general purpose dogs, security officer
1 – Superstar of the month award – April 2022
Additionally, there have been several occasions in 2022 when we have received unsolicited praise about the performance of Nick’s duties from our clients, colleagues and the Police.
Speaking of Nick’s recognition, Jason Lennox – Operations Manager, said, “Nick is a really great representation of a security professional. He’s always smart in appearance and goes the extra mile for our clients and his colleagues. He’s always responsive and concise with his communication and, critically, always thinks before he acts. In addition, Nick has a great aptitude for dog handling and is deemed by myself, our colleagues and clients as a safe pair of hands. Nick has been a true GSS stalwart this year!”
While Nick is a deserving recipient of this award, our sincere thanks to our entire team for pulling together this year and providing excellent service in keeping our clients, their staff, customers and assets safe.
