REFLECTIONS ON 2022 FROM OUR CEO…

The past year was a monumental one for Global Support Services (GSS) as we achieved record-breaking success in both turnover and staff numbers. This was made possible by the unwavering support of our valued customers and dedicated staff.

As we navigated the challenges of inflation, cost of living pressures, and resourcing strains, our customers stepped up to ensure that our security staff were fairly compensated. We are grateful for their empathy and swift action.

Our team effort was in overdrive as we focused on our three critical success factors: being an employer of choice, a partner of choice, and ensuring financial stability. These guiding principles were the driving force behind our mission, vision, values, decision-making, and behaviours, making 2022 a truly successful year for us.

We made strategic investments in our operational team, bringing in some exceptional operators who seamlessly fit into our team. Our canine team was strengthened with the addition of Jason Lennox and Mike Dermody, both coming from uniformed services with extensive canine knowledge. Linsey Hughes also rejoined our operations team from our accounts department, and Anne White has been promoted to head of accounts.

We bid farewell to Maddie Evans, who joined Merseyside Police to fulfill a career dream after joining us as an apprentice in 2018.

We are proud to offer our customers the exceptional service they have come to expect from GSS at a competitive price point. Without their support, we would not have been able to meet our staff’s additional living costs and maintain our financial stability.

As I look ahead to the coming year, I am confident that we are well-equipped to meet any challenges that may arise in our industry, from financial pressures to legislative changes and resourcing strains. I am excited for another successful year with our market-leading management team, skilled field-based team, and strong balance sheet. I am truly grateful to our staff and customers for their continued support.
