Assessed three years ago, we are currently (and proudly) accredited to Investors in People (IIP) GOLD Standard (awarded to just 7% of all IIP accredited companies), in recognition of our outstanding commitment to the training and development of people within our business. Though, just as our company has grown and evolved over the last three years so has the framework used to assess IIP companies. Our next accreditation review is now upon us…

Under the new framework, we have elected to go for a full company assessment. We want our IIP Accreditation to be more meaningful than just the ‘badge’ and so have elected to expose our business to a comprehensive, microscopic review of its people processes. This will allow our IIP Assessors to identify the things we do well and more critically, the things that we don’t – so we can work to improve them and deliver on our ambition to make GSS an employer of choice in our Industry.

A key part of the review framework will see every member of GSS staff sent an online questionnaire that you are requested to complete (that takes no more than 5-10 mins to do so). Links to the questionnaire will be sent out via text, email and/or the MyGSS portal between the dates of 29th November and 13th December 2017, we will also send reminders via our social media channels. Your responses will be sent to you directly by IIP and kept strictly anonymous.

In addition to this, a cross-section of our staff (office and field-based) will be selected by IIP and invited to attend a one hour interview during which you will be invited to discuss your feelings on our company in more depth. These interviews will take place on the 10th & 11th January 2018. Attendance is not compulsory and interviews can be done with 2 or 3 members of staff in attendance.

We invite open, honest and constructive feedback from all members of our team. We have made a decision to undertake this exercise and potentially expose ourselves to things we may find it difficult to hear because we are totally committed to continuous improvement and in particular, bettering your experience of working with us…
