GSS SUPERSTAR OF THE MONTH AWARD – DECEMBER 2019

We are delighted to announce that the GSS Superstar of the Month Award for December 2019 goes to:

Explosives Detection Dog Handler – Nikki Walker.

Nikki is currently deployed for us on a full-time basis at Prince Edward Theatre, providing search and high-visibility, public re-assurance patrolling in support of the hugely successful production of Mary Poppins. 

Nikki is recognised through this award for living our core company values of Reliability and Teamwork.

The performance of her duties during her tenure at Prince Edward Theatre has been repeatedly praised by both our client and our Senior Management Team. During one specific incident (read here) in December (after which our client was compelled to write to us to praise Nikki for her conduct) she went the extra mile in helping a young patron experiencing difficulties during a performance – by providing a warm and reassuring presence to the youngster. 

Presenting the award to Nikki, in the presence of the Deputy Managers at Prince Edward Theatre (and in view of dozens of school children who had just watched a performance of the show), Kevin Wootton – Business Development Director said: “Unusually for when we debate the recipient of the GSS Superstar Award, this nomination was unanimous. I have been presenting these awards for a number of years now and experiencing Nikki’s elation at receiving this award made it one of the most positive presentations yet! Nikki is hugely deserving of this recognition and in a short space of time, both she and Lucy have become an integral member of our clients security/front of house team.”

The GSS Superstar Award has become an integral agenda item of our Monthly Senior Management Meetings, during which each member of our senior team puts forward a case for nomination. While the debate is constructive (and usually fun), the final selection is never (usually!) easy, as there are always award-worthy examples of our team members exceeding the standards expected of them. So, while we can only issue one award each month, we want to sincerely thank all members of our team for their continued support and hard work for our valued clients.
